I-25 will be closed near the South bound Nevada offramp after 4 a.m. Saturday so that crews can remove the massive girder that fell after a crane collapsed.
Troopers say the crane came crashing down just after midnight Friday while crews were working to move a concrete girder. No one was hurt.
I-25 was closed for several hours early Friday morning and re-opened.
But the southbound ramp to North Nevada Avenue remained closed all day. Southbound Nevada traffic is being sent to Garden of the Gods instead. In addition, some lane closures may take place throughout the day on Friday.
This is not the first time a COSMIX crane has collapsed.
COSMIX stopped using the Rough Terrain Crane after it collapsed and killed a man last year.
