Fire Investigation

A woman is found dead Sunday after an early morning fire at her home in Crystola.

Firefighters from Manitou Springs and Green Mountain Falls responded to the fire along the north side of Highway 24 in the Big Pine Enterprises Mobile Home Park around 4:30 this morning. Several neighbors had called into the El Paso County dispatch.

After the fire was extinguished, crews discovered the 51 year old woman's body inside the trailer.

Investigators aren't sure yet exactly how the woman died, or whether she actually died in the fire. An autopsy was done early Sunday, but investigators are still awaiting the results of toxicollogy tests to say for sure.

The deceased woman was the only one living in the trailer.

Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the fire, but they say they do believe it was accidental, not criminal.

The name of the woman has not been released. Police are waiting until her familiy has been notified.
