Colorado Springs' Memorial Hospital is trying to get the word out about the importance of becoming an organ donor. That's why on Sunday afternoon, the hospital got organ donors and recipients together to share their stories. They hope their stories of hope and survival will encourage others to donate as well.
Volunteers from Donor Alliance were on hand to help with the event. One volunteer knows too well the importance of donating organs, she lost her son when he was two and a half months old. He was on a waiting list for a heart transplant at the time. She says she believes talking about her son's death is important so it wasn't in vain.
