NBA superstar Kobe Bryant's lawyers have asked for the medical records of his accuser and legal analysts say it's an example of how rape cases are different from other criminal cases.

They say rape is the only crime where the accuser's state of mind is more scrutinized than the defendant's.

That's because the jury needs to determine whether or not the sex was consentual.

Even if Bryant's lawyers don't get the records, analysts say the woman's February hospital visit will jeopardize her credibility.

Police at the University of Northern Colorado say she was taken to the hospital because they believed she was a threat to herself.
