An accident between a motorcycle and a pick-up resulted in the death of the motorcycle driver Tuesday.

According to Colorado State Patrol, it happened on Highway 24, just east of Ellicott Highway. The pick-up was getting ready to tun onto Ellicott Highway, when the motorcycle hit its left front corner. The motorcycle driver, Daniel Benson, a 20-year-old from Calhan, was thrown from the bike and slid off the road.

He was wearing a helmet and eye protection, but was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Colorado State Patrol is still investigating, and alcohol involvement is not know at this time.
