The Army has identified the latest Fort Carson soldier to die in Iraq.
Staff Sergeant Stephen Bertolino, age 40, was killed November 29th when his convoy was ambushed. Originally from Orange, California, KKTV has learned his wife and four children live in the Colorado Springs area.
SSG Bertolino was assigned to Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Troop, Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment.
He was the 33rd soldier from Fort Carson to die in Iraq. A memorial service at the mountain post has not yet been announced.
Another soldier who was attached to the 3rd ACR was also killed in the attack.
The Department of Defense identifies him as SPC Aaron Sissel, age 22, of Tipton, Iowa. SPC Sissel was assigned to the 2133rd Transportation Company, Army National Guard, based in Centerville, Iowa.
