A human skull discovered in Mesa County is still unidentified after a man looking for his camera found a lot more than he expected.
It happened Sunday off state Highway 65, near Mesa Lakes Resort.
Robert Frady and his son, Colton, were trying to find a camera they lost a couple of weeks ago.
They found it all right, but also came across the skull.
Sheriff's deputies searched the area, but could not find any other bone fragments or human remains.
Authorities turned the skull over to coroner Rob Kurtzman, whose office is trying to determine the age, gender and identity.
An examination is complete, and the skull is back in the hands of the sheriff's department
