Officials say farm and croplands in Colorado are continuing to rise in value. According to the state Agriculture Statistics Service, farm real estate in Colorado averaged $730 per acre at the first of 2003. That was up 2.8-percent from the previous year.
Officials say the value of croplands averaged $976 per acre, up 5.2-percent and pastureland was worth about $400 per acre. That's also up by about 11-percent.
Irrigated croplands are worth $1,900 per acre which was up 5.6-percent. Officials say Colorado values for farm real estate including buildings was up about 5-percent over the year, which was slightly behind the national average.
