Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
The Army has dismissed a cowardice charge against an Army interrogator shaken up by the sight of an Iraqi's body.
Staff Sergeant Georg-Andreas Pogany will now face the lesser charge of dereliction of duty.
He requested counseling after seeing the body of an Iraqi man cut in half by American fire.
He says seeing the mangled corpse caused him to shake, become ill, and lose sleep. But he denies acting in a cowardly way.
His lawyer says dereliction of duty is a minor offense -- that
f disposed of without a court-martial -- usually carries a penalty
of loss of pay or rank reduction.
A military court hearing set for tomorrow has been canceled.
