One of the 20 soldiers injured in Sunday’s attack in Iraq was stationed out of Fort Carson. SGT Ray Littlefield is serving with Fort Carson’s Third ACR. SGT Littlefield was on his way home on emergency leave. His wife Dawn, is pregnant, and is set to have labor induced on Wednesday.
Dawn Littlefield says her husband is now in Germany being treated for his injuries. She says he suffered some trauma to his back. She adds that he is doing alright and should recover.
SGT Ray Littlefield was one of our KKTV 11 News Colorado Heroes. We aired his photo on July 6th. This was the message from his family in Colorado Springs at that time.
“This is my husband Ray Littlefield, he is a Sergeant in the Army, stationed with the 3rd ACR at Fort Carson, currently serving in Iraq. He turned 27 on May 9th. We have been married 5 years and have two kids and another on the way. I haven’t heard from him in 21 days now, and I just wanted to say I love and miss him, and Happy Birthday. We are proud of you!
