Army officials say a Fort Carson soldier who failed to return to Iraq with his unit last spring was sentenced to nine months in jail, fined $7,173 and had his rank reduced.
Private First Class Todd A. Barselow, a member of the mountain post's 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, was tried by a special court martial and found guilty Friday of missing movement and failure to obey lawful and general regulations.
Officials say after serving his time, Barselow will receive a bad conduct discharge.
