The young Illinois woman accused of killing a pregnant friend and cutting out her fetus has a long and troubled past.
Court documents show Tiffany Hall was sentenced to probation in 1996, for kicking her mother on the legs. She was 14 at the time. A month later, officials unsuccessfully tried to revoke her probation for problems including a missed drug test and curfew violations. Hall was sent to state care later that year and freed in 1997. By 1999 she had two daughters and lost custody of them when a court found evidence one had been abused.
Hall was never charged, but her mother told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the abused girl, who's now seven, still wears a diaper and speaks mostly in unintelligible sounds.
