Colorado Springs police have arrested a suspect in a series of arson fires.
Authorities say 36-year-old Daniel Stabler was seen starting a dumpster fire around 1 a.m.
He was taken into custody and questioned about several other recent fires.
Investigators say nearly 40 such fires have been set in the past several months, including one at an the Falcon Pointe Apartment complex. That fire caused $1.5 million in damages.
The fires have started in the middle of the night with trash as kindling.
Stabler was convicted of one count of arson and one count of aggravated arson in Kansas. He recently completed parole in Colorado on those charges.
Stabler is being held on $250,000 bond.
