Colorado Looks for a "Cooler" August

Scott Manns took a lot of calls in July from homeowners who thought their swamp coolers weren't working. But he says the coolers were working -- they just couldn't handle all the 100-degree days.

Pueblo had 23 of those days -- making last month its hottest July ever. He says people ended up waiting for parts to repair air conditions -- because supplies ran low.

Pueblo set a record for the highest temperature ever -- 109 degrees -- on July 14th. Grand Junction, Alamosa and Colorado Springs also had their hottest month ever. Unofficial readings said Greeley had at least
15 days at 100 or above.
