Ski Season Delayed

Colorado's unseasonably warm October is delaying the opening of ski and snowboard season.

Loveland is often the first resort to open and usually has
skiers on the slopes by mid-October.

The resort began making snow October Sixth and had one run
nearly covered, but the warm weather melted some of the powder. For
two days it was even too warm to make snow.

Arapahoe Basin is competing with Loveland to be the first resort
to open. It had planned to open Friday, but will likely delay its
opening because of the heat.

Much cooler temperatures are expected this weekend, and that
could help the resorts.
