Heat Wave Ends

The parched Durango area got almost half an inch of rain while
some areas south of Denver recorded more than an inch. The National
Weather Service has issued flood warnings for the area burned by
the Hayman fire last summer.

The area in central Colorado is considered especially vulnerable
to flooding when it rains heavily because there's no vegetation to
absorb the water.

Flood warnings have also been issued for areas scorched last
summer by fires near Canon City and Trinidad.

The weather is expected turn hot and dry again this week -- but
forecasters say the monsoons could be headed to Colorado.
