The Prowers County Sheriff says a woman accused of drowning her two young children in a bathtub before a failed suicide attempt, will likely make her first appearance in court Monday.
Sheriff Jim Faull says 32 year old Rebekah Amaya will be advised
of the charges against her and appointed an attorney if she doesn't
have one. She is charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of four year old Grace Headlee, and five month old Gabriel Amaya.
The children were found unconscious in the family bathtub by Gabriel's father Friday. He also found his wife Rebekah with slash marks on her wrists.
Amaya is now on 24 hour suicide watch in a specially designed cell.
