Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
Saturday marks the 1 year annivesary of the murder of corrections officer Eric Autobee.
23 year-old Sergeant Autobee died last year after he was beaten to death by an inmate at the Limon Correctional Facility where he worked.
Investigators say Edward Montour beat Autobee with a ladel he stole while working in the prison kitchen.
Montour says he wanted to kill a guard to raise his status in prison.
Now, Autobee's parents are suing the Department of Corrections alleging negligence.
Montour was serving a life sentence for killing his infant daughter.
He was sentenced to death for killing Autobee.
He is appealing that sentence.
