Acting USOC President Bill Martin made the nomination today
to the International Olympic Committee.

The IOC will select a host city in July 2005 during a meeting
in Singapore.

The USOC's board of directors chose New York City as the
official U-S applicant city last November. That followed a two-year
review of eight cities vying for the games.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the city ``enthusiastically accepts'' the nomination.
