Fire crews are mopping up a house fire that burned east of I-25 near Monument Hill Road.

Investigators say they were originally called out to a grass fire in that area, and it turned out to be a house on fire in the Misty Acres subdivision, which is a brand new neighborhood.

Fire crews from Tri Lakes, Palmer Lake, Black Forest, and Larkspur responded. They were able to knock down the flames in about a half hour.

The owner was home at the time of the fire, but fire crews say there don't appear to be any injuries.

The situation is under control and in the clean-up stages. The house sustained serious damages.

Investigators from the Tri Lakes Fire Department are working to determine the cause of the fire.
