A spokesman for Governor Owens says the governor's 86-year-old mother suffered a stroke over the weekend.
Dan Hopkins says the prognosis for June Keefe Owens was not good, but had no immediate report on her condition.
He says Mrs. Owens was taken to a Denver-area hospital Thursday after a fall and suffered the stroke on Sunday.
The governor has canceled all appointments.
