Some just released video gives us a first look at the man who police believe snatched a minivan with 2 two small children inside. It happened at a Springs Walgreens on Sunday morning. The kids were found unharmed. Police have few leads right now and that’s why they need your help.
On Sunday, police said Patience Kabwasa-Sewell went shopping inside the Walgreens, leaving her 3-year-old and 7-month-old in the mini-van with the keys inside. When she came out, her car was gone and so were her kids.
Police said a man at the ATM, caught on surveillance video, is the suspect. He even bought a few items at the Walgreens before stealing the car. Police describe him as a Hispanic male in his 20's, 5’6”, weighing about 160 pounds with a goatee and a large nose. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket and dark pants.
If you know anything about this man, call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP in Colorado Springs or at 542-STOP in Pueblo. Remember, your anonymous tip could earn you a cash reward.
The van was found less than 2 hours after it was stolen. The kids are now with their mother. No word yet if she'll face any charges.
