A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Outdoor sports stores in Colorado are now receiving their first
shipments of personal locator beacons.
Adventurers can simply touch a button if they ever get lost in
the outdoors. A string of U.S. and Russian satellites will then pick
up their exact location.
Officials say the beacons have advanced global positioning
features, reducing a search that would normally take several days
to just a few hours.
