Searchers looking for clues into the disappearance of a three year old boy west of Fort Collins, Saturday, found what appear to be the remains of a small person.

A spokeswoman for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says
search and rescue crews found the top of a skull and a small tooth.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office is expected to review the
remains to try and determine whether they belong to Jaryd Atadero the Littleton boy who vanished in 1999 while hiking with a church group.

One theory about Jaryd's disappearance is that he was attacked by an animal of some kind, possibly a mountain lion.

Allyn Atadero, Jaryd's father, is among some 30 people trying to find the boy's remains near Poudre Canyon, about 74 miles northwest of
Denver. Mr. Atadero says he wants to know where his son's body is
and what happened to him. He says the answer to his questions would
be the best Father's Day gift he could imagine.

Jefferson County spokeswoman Eloise Campanella says the remains were discovered about 150 feet from where the clothing was found by hikers on June 4th in the Big South Trail area.
