CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) -- A judge sentence 37-year-old Charles Greenwell yesterday after a jury found him guilty of second-degree assault earlier this month for attacking 59-year-old Alan Rogers.
The March incident stems from a dispute over an antique table Rogers was refinishing for Greenwell's wife, Cynthia.
The attack came two years after Greenwell completed a prison sentence for the 1985 shooting death of Pueblo narcotics detective Dennis Yaklich. He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in that case.
Since Greenwell's release, he has been arrested twice -- for the assault on Rogers and an alleged assault on his wife.
