Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
An Air Force Academy cadet accused of raping a female cadet in a dorm room last fall will face a court-martial.
Sophomore cadet Douglas Meester is accused of rape, forcible sodomy, providing alcohol to minors and indecent assault.
The investigating officer who presided over Meester's preliminary hearing in May recommended against a court-martial.
But acting academy superintendent, Brigadier General John Weida, made the final decision.
No trial date has been set.
The 20-year-old Meester faces life in prison, dismissal from the
Air Force and forfeiture of all pay and allowances if convicted.
He's the first cadet to face a court-martial over sexual assault allegations at the academy since a scandal broke in February.
