Dozens of people who live in the Cimarron Hills neighborhood gathered at Horizon Middle School Wednesday night to learn more about William Rose. Rose is a Sexually Violent Predator who will be moving to 1466 Hathaway Drive September 10, the same day he is released from Prison. Rose has been serving the last 5 years in prison for failing to register as a sex offender while serving a probation sentence for domestic violence. Rose's criminal record also includes convictions for sexual assault in Oregon and California in the 1970's. According to El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa, records show Rose's victims have all been adults, but many people at Wednesday's meetings said they would continue to pay close attention to their children when Rose moves in. After Rose is released from prison, he will have 3 days to register as a sex offender with El Paso County. If he fails to do so, sheriff's officials will issue a warrant for his arrest.
