If you're confused what to buy dad this Father's Day, browse at one of his favorite stores, Home Depot. We found you could spend anywhere from $6 to $1600, and get something he really wants, but what do fathers really long for?

Take it from store manager, Jim Martin; drills are pretty popular gifts, ranging in price from $50 on up to $200.

"Drills are a good thing. They're always getting better every year, so every year you can upgrade to another," he says.

If you don't want to break the bank, consider a tape measure, a hammer, or a pair of safety gloves. That keeps you in the $2 to $20 price range. But if you bump up to $40, you can buy dad one of the newest gadgets, a laser level.

What about a garage door opener? Home Depot's taking $40 off on basic installation, but if you want to warm his heart and his stomach, barbeque grills may be the way to go. You can buy one from $119 to $1600.

Home Depot managers say this weekend through next week they'll see a lot more females in the store, and they're there, ready to help.

On a different note, if your loved one's in the military or reserves and is currently deployed, sign up for the “Homefront Cares Armed Forces Father's Day Picnic.”

It'll be a day of fun and games for the kids, while the spouse gets to kick back and enjoy a leisurely picnic.

It's being held at Calvary United Methodist Church on Austin Bluffs just east of Academy.

For more information, call the Operation Deep Discount/The Homefront Cares hotline at 447-3838.
