Two more Fort Carson soldiers who died in the war in Iraq, are remembered Monday on post.

The soldiers were killed last week in a firefight outside the Iraqi city of Fallujah. Both were standing guard at checkpoints when the fighting started.

Thirty-four-year-old Sergeant Thomas Broomhead and 37-year-old Staff Sergeant Michael Quinn were both members of the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment.

Staff Sergeant Quinn's mother remembers him as a man who loved the military, and, in fact, had reenlisted planning to serve for 20 years. Other family members describe Quinn as a great soldier, father and someone they could count on for a laugh.

Family and friends of Sergeant Broomhead, who was originally from Canon City, but grew up in Florida, say he too was always good for a joke. His brother in law, Jim Carter fondly remembers Broomhead acting as his best man when he got married.

Family members of both men say, each died doing what they loved, serving our country.

Broomhead and Quinn are the 6th and 7th soldiers based out of Fort Carson's 3rd ACR to be killed in Iraq.
