Video games and excercise, don't usually mix, but one Colorado Springs gym is putting the two together, to the delight of kids and parents alike.
Gold's Gym off of Union and Briargate has created a room, with active video games, for kids ages 9-12. It's all in an effort to give the kids something active to do while their parents work out. From Dance Dance Revolution, to a biking game that the kids have to pedal continuously in order to play, the games are all geared toward making the kids work.
Parents like Brook Black love the idea that her child is building up a sweat, while she does.
"We don't even have video games at home, because we want him to go outside and be active. So I love that he's active in there and everytime I pick him up, he's sweating," says Brook.
The game room is the first of it's kind in Colorado Springs according the the owners of Gold's Gym. They say they wanted to make it a part of their gym, to help combat childhood obesity, while keeping the kids occupied, while their parents got a workout in.
