Life returned to a normal pace Monday, after Interstate 80 just inside Nebraska from the Colorado border was reopened.
The interstate reopened late Sunday, two days after an eastbound semitrailer slammed into the center support beams of a bridge about three miles west of town. The impact killed the driver and caused the bridge to collapse onto the highway.
Traffic was rerouted for about a 10 mile stretch around the interstate closure while crews removed the bridge and inspected the roadway.
The accident happened not far from I-80's interchange with Interstate 76, which runs from Denver up to the highway in Nebraska.
