Thanksgiving brought winter with it Thursday, dropping wet, sticky snow on Colorado Springs!

KKTV 11 News Meteorologist Branden Borramans says...

We'll see a break from the snow this morning and afternoon. Look for breaks of sun to develop throughout the day with daytime highs topping out in the lower half of the 40's.

A fast-moving upper-level disturbance will drop into Colorado tonight, giving us another quick shot of snow. The snow should be mainly light in Colorado Springs, the Pikes Peak Region, and Pueblo, where an inch or so might accumulate by late tonight. This could be enough to make roads slick again, into early Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, this system will likely produce several inches of snow for the Sangre de Cristo and Wet Mountains, as well as the Southern I-25 Corridor (Walsenburg and Trinidad). Expect travel to become very difficult in these areas by evening.

Saturday looks partly sunny and cool before another shot of light snow arrives Saturday Night into Sunday. This system looks weaker, and will likely target the Eastern Plains more so than the I-25 Corridor.

Early next week is looking quiet and mild.
