The acting superintendent of Pueblo's District 70, apparently failed to tell the school board that he was convicted of driving while impaired twice.

Mike Mauro was brought in to replace superintendent Dr. Stuart Yager, who is on administrative leave after a drunk driving accident last weekend.

Court records show that Mauro has been arrested twice on suspicion of DUI, but pleaded guilty to driving while impaired. The most recent conviction back in 2000, happened just a few weeks before he was
promoted from principal of Vineland Middle School to interim associate superintendent. For that conviction, Mauro was sentenced to wear an ankle bracelet for 80 days.

School board members say they haven't decided whether to take action against Mauro.
