AFA Sex Assault Invesigation Latest

In the first of four investigations into allegations of sexual assaults at the Air Force Academy, authorities reveal twice as many cadets were punished as previously reported.

Lieutenant Colonel Dewey Ford, head of the investigative team, says the increase is due to information that was left out of the initial figures, namely, the initial figures did not include administrative actions.

The Air Force had reported that 21 cadets were punished for sexual assaults, ranging from unwanted touching to rapes, between 1990 and 2003. In contrast, the report's summary of cases says 57 incidents were investigated. Of those, 28 cases were found to involve criminal
conduct.

Ford says the full report of the Air Force investigation will be available in a few weeks.
