Colorado Springs police have released surveillance photos of a brazen and armed attempted robbery at a video store in June. Police hope releasing the pictures will help catch this crook.
On the evening of June 23, the suspect entered Carefree Video and proceeded to shop around, waiting for the other customers to leave. When he was alone with the worker, the suspect ran behind the counter, pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun, and held it to the cashier’s head as he demanded money.
As the cashier went to her knees, the suspect pulled her towards the cash register. During this struggle, the cashier was able to activate the robbery alarm. The suspect then ran, empty-handed.
The suspect is identified as a light-complected black male, possibly bi-racial, 17–20 years old, 5’08” tall, 175 lbs, with a medium build and brown curly hair.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
