A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect on Tuesday afternoon for most of Southern Colorado. Daytime heating and moisture will combine with a disturbance moving through Colorado to develop numerous thunderstorms. Any one of them will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain. Burn scars and areas that have seen recent heavy rain will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
Its a disappointing day for kids in Avondale as the Boys and Girls Club there shuts its doors.
Avondale is the first of the Pueblo area clubs to close down but it may not be the last. Money has been an issue for many non-profit organizations and the Boys and Girls club is no different.
Kids and parents alike have voiced their displeasure with the closing of the clubs, and have vowed to keep activities for kids a priority in the town.
Jody Voss, the President and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club in Southeastern Colorado told 11 News that Avondale was chosen to close first because it services the smallest number of kids. She also said that the future closure of other clubs in the Pueblo area is a possibility.
