As Union avenue residents are being allowed back into their homes, the concern now is about their possible exposure to asbestos.
Federal health officials have tested for asbestos, but they are still waiting on those results.
And as they wait, some residents on Union avenue want to know if the air they are breathing is safe.
Kylee McKenzie and her fiance were forced from their apartment last Thursday when the explosion rocked Union avenue.
"It was really scary because we didn't know if possibly our house was messed up," says McKenzie.
They're home now, but with new concerns: the worry of asbestos.
Kylee is pregnant, and is scared for her unborn baby.
"I'm actually 15 weeks pregnant so I am worried about health issues about asbestos and what not. Hopefully everything is okay because, like I said, I'm 15 weeks pregnant so its a little scary."
"I know people have had concerns about the dust and smoke that was coming off the site," says Heather Maio, Environmental Health Director.
Maio says they are waiting for their asbestos test to come back.
"Asbestos fibers may have been contained in some of that smoke, its possible. We're not positive, but that would have gone off and drifted away during the first few hours during that explosion," says Maio.
But Kylee says she is not taking any risks.
"I'm actually going to my doctor tomorrow to talk to them definitely about that, and see if there could be problems because if that's the case, then I'm going to have to be staying at my parent's house more," she says.
Once health officials get those asbestos results, they say they can then give better health recommendations to residents like Kylee.
