11 News has exclusively confirmed, evidence that may have been inappropriately destroyed by the Colorado Springs Police Department included that of Rocio Sperry, the latest known victim of confessed serial killer Robert Charles Browne. For nearly 2 decades, Sperry's was considered a missing persons case. Her's was one of 1 of 8 missing persons cases listed in a Colorado Springs Police audit of inappropriately destroyed evidence released in June. We now know Sperry's case was actually a homicide. Thursday Browne pleaded guilty to the first degree murder of Rocio Sperry which took place in November of 1987. He confessed to killing then 15-year-old Sperry, and putting her body in a dumpster. Sperry's remains were never found and her case was never solved.
