One woman in Colorado Springs received quite a shock this morning, as she woke up to discover a bear in her kitchen.
However, what she thought was just one bear, turned out to be three.
Kari Alpern says she left her sliding glass door open about three inches so her cats could come and go. That proved to be all the space the three bears needed to get in after they smelled food inside.
Kari's neighbor spotted the bears and called 9-1-1.
By the time police and the Division of Wildlife arrived the bears had found a relaxing spot in a tree next to the deck.
Each bear was eventually traquilized and dropped from the trees, they were then taken away to be tagged.
Bears have a two strike policy with the division of wildlife and this is strike one for all three. If any of these bears cause more trouble, they'll be destroyed.
As for now, they'll be taken somewhere else in Colorado and released as a family.
