A major break in a string of burglaries in the Stetson Hills neighborhood. Police say early Wednesday morning, they found an abandoned Land Rover full of stolen goods. Investigators say at around 3:00 a.m. residents on the 4200 block of Aryshire Lane woke up when they heard their garage door closing. They called police who arrived to find the green SUV parked just blocks away.
No one was inside, but police say it was anything but empty.
"We found purses, wallets and keys to other vehicles," said Detective Rodney Bichler of the Colorado Springs Police Department. "The vehicle that was actually seen, the Land Rover, was stolen in a previous burglary."
Police say the SUV had been missing for about a month. Investigators are currently processing the vehicle for evidence. If you have any information on this or any crime call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP in Colorado Springs or at 542-STOP in Pueblo. Your anonymous tip could earn you a cash reward.
