The employee of a Super K-Mart who died in a weekend shooting at her workplace in Englewood had spent part of the day Sunday joking with a friend about some of her store's more difficult customers.
Within hours, a man described as a "regular customer" allegedly opened fire, striking that worker in the chest, and a female customer in the lower back.
Forty-three-year-old Kathy DeBell of Littleton had started working at the store just two weeks earlier, after deciding her commute to a Safeway store in Boulder was too far.
Police say DeBell was waiting for a ride home Sunday night when 39-year-old Anthony Law walked up to the building with a gun, and shot two women he didn't know.
