After the court filing yesterday Wingate faces five new felony
counts of embezzling public property and six felony counts of
giving false information to a pawnbroker.
An affidavit used to obtain a search warrant for Wingate's house
says the councilman repeatedly pawned a city-owned Dell computer
and a Palm personal digital assistant.
Wingate has said he won't resign -- but a felony conviction
under city charter would force him out.
