Colorado Springs police are asking for the public's help to track down a suspect in a homicide early Monday morning.

Police recieved calls about a disturbance at the corner of Pikes Peak and Tejon downtown around 2:00 a.m. Monday. Two men had been stabbed, and one of them drove them both to Memorial Hospital. Jason Kettles, age 25, died in surgery. The second victim is listed in stable condition at Memorial Hospital and is expected to survive.

Police say the stabbings occurred after a fight in a parking area near Tequilas nightclub.

Authorities say the suspect left in a 1990's silver Mazda pickup truck. It has a Star of David on one side and the number 23 on the other side. On the hood, there is an image of the Energizer Bunny with sharp teeth. The pickup was located Monday afternoon in the 6700 block of Galley.

The suspect has also been identified, and an arrest warrant has been issued. Police are now looking for Jesse Joe Kaufman, a white male, 5'11" tall, weighing about 200 lbs. He is bald and has hazel eyes. He is currently in the Army assigned to Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry at Fort Carson.

The death of Jason Kettles is the 6th homicide this year in the city.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest. If you have information call Colorado Springs Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
