Moderate snow continues to fall for some areas of northern El Paso and Teller Counties, accumulating in the grass and yards. Meanwhile, in the plains and along the southern I-25 stretch, light rain/snow mix continues. Take it slow on the roadways - due to VERY strong winds, we are seeing blowing dirt and snow (depending on the region), which is tremendously reducing visibility. A wildfire is burning 200 acres in Costilla County, near La Veta Pass.
Two neighborhoods are under voluntary evacuations Sunday night. People in the Wagon Creek and Forbes Park communities may stay at the Blanca/Fort Garland Community Center if needed.
The Costilla County Sheriff's Office says firefighters from 8 counties are fighting the fire.
