Colorado Springs utilities workers began drilling new water wells Thursday morning to help ease the city's water problems.
The new wells will supplement water supplies for the northern part of Colorado Springs.
The water comes from Denver and Arapahoe aquifers.
The city of Colorado Springs is able to use the water because of an agreement signed during the 1980's.
