Seven members of Fort Carson's Third Armored Cavalry Regiment have been injured by grenades in an Iraqi town where the Americans had fired on protesters hours earlier, killing two and wounding 18.

A U.S. intelligence officer reports unknown attackers lobbed two grenades over a wall and into a compound of U.S. troops in already tense Fallujah.

Captain Frank Rosenblatt says none of the injuries to soldiers of the Third Armored Cavalry Regiment is life-threatening. The troops inside the former police station opened fire on men seen fleeing the area, but no one was captured or believed hit.
