Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
At least one of Colorado's eleven suspected cases of SARS has tested negative for the respiratory virus.
SARS, or severe acute respiratory syndrome, has killed more than 270 people worldwide and infected more than 4600 people. In the United States there have been 41 cases but no deaths.
Three new suspected cases of SARS have been reported in Colorado. All of the new cases are residents who recently traveled to China. They include two Denver women and a Colorado Springs man.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta is testing samples from suspected SARS patients nationwide. Of the 245 reported SARS cases in the United States, about 45 have tested positive for an antibody CDC scientists are using to identify SARS.
State health officials in Colorado would not reveal the identity of the person who has tested negative for the flu-like virus.
