The combat portion of the war in Iraq may be over, but the government still warns of potential terrorist threats. And a new class in Colorado Springs hopes to bring confidence back to communities.

Ever since Sept. 11 authorities have asked Americans to be aware of their surroundings and to be on the look out for suspicious people or activities. The new class, called SAVE, is helping people learn what to do, if they find themselves in a dangerous situation.

SAVE stands for "survive a violent encounter." In the class, students learn how little things can change an attackers mind. Small things like, putting your hand up as a visual way of telling the attacker not to come any closer. The instructor says, it's these small things that make the difference.

Dr.Craig Sommer, one of the instructors for SAVE says, many of the participants in the class have previously been victimized, and want to learn how to prevent it from happening again. He says, they leave the class feeling much more confident.
