A mother whose daughter was killed at Columbine High School in 1999 referred to the "holes in our hearts" at a groundbreaking ceremony for a memorial to the victims.
Dawn Anna Beck's daughter, Lauren Townsend, was among 12 students and a teacher killed in April 1999 in the nation's deadliest school shootings.
Former President Bill Clinton, who has helped raise money for the memorial, also spoke and said he'll donate 50-thousand dollars to match a grant pledged by a local golf club. Clinton also attended a Columbine fundraiser in 2004.
The memorial will be in Clement Park next to Columbine High School. Organizers still need about $250,000 for the $1.5 million memorial.
