The 700-acre "Tyndall Gulch" fire near Westcliffe is now 50-percent contained, three days after a power line ignited a tree. All 100 people who voluntarily left their homes were cleared to return Thursday night.
Rocky Mountain Incident Management Team spokesman Steve Segin says crews expect to have the blaze fully contained by late Saturday.
Cooler, wetter weather has settled in to the area, and Segin says the improved conditions are helping in the fight.
